Ways to Protect your Teeth

Brush Regularly

Brush twice a day using fluoride toothpaste and a soft toothbrush to avoid gum damage. Be sure to replace your brush every 3-4 months.

Floss Routinely

Flossing at least once a day removes plaque from between teeth and also prevents plaque from building up below the gum line.

Minimise Sugary Drinks

Best is to completely avoid sugary drinks, as well as eating sweets and other sugary foods. Rather drink lots of water to keep your mouth and body hydrated.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Eat calcium and phosphates rich food like dairy products and also fibre rich fruits and vegetables, for fibre helps to keep teeth and gums clean.

Avoid Smoking & Vaping

Smoking, along with vaping and chewing tobacco increase the risk for gum problems, oral cancer, decay of root of teeth, etc.

Chew Sugarless Gum

This triggers production of saliva in the mouth which, in turn, breaks down food particles and washes away dirt and other impurities.

Stilbaai Dentiste- Stilbaai Tandarts B

OUR DENTISTS

Both our dentists qualified in June 1996, after which they immediately started practising. Dr Charl Enslin and Dr Lindi Gillespie both also practised abroad for quite a while before establishing themselves in Stilbaai.

Moreover, both of them believe that children should be taught about mouth hygiene from a young age already. Therefore they go out of their way to make that first visit to the dentist special for the little people.

Dr Lindi possesses a very special knack for handling younger children, whereas Dr Charl has the ability to handle older patients with great empathy, no matter the condition of their health.

OUR STAFF

Reception

Carin Louw mostly manages our Reception Desk. She boasts almost 18 years of experience, leaving her really knowledgeable about preparing quotations, as well as liaising with medical funds to obtain authorisation for procedures on their behalf.

Accounts

Engela Matthee manages the day-to-day administration of the Practice. On the back of 18 years of experience working for a well-known auditors firm, all accounts (debtors, as well as creditors) and liaison with medical funds are in her capable hands.

Dental Assistants

Liza Buys and Izzane Linstrom are Dr Charl Enslin’s and Dr Lindi Gillespie’s dental assistants respectively. With their 12 years of experience collectively, these two ladies perform a highly important and valuable role of support in the Practice.

LATEST EQUIPMENT

We have acquired the necessary equipment to:

  • Take x-ray images
  • Take panoramic x-ray images
  • Manufacture CEREC crowns, as well as bridges

With the latest equipment to our disposal, we are able to manufacture crowns and bridges ourselves. Not only is this ability cost-effective for our patients, but it is also a lot faster compared to prostheses that we have to send to a laboratory to be fabricated.
